Skyler wasn’t sure if he regretted telling Preston what had happened and changed him for the rest of his life or not. He would have eventually had to tell her if they continued talking. She would come up some how, but now he found himself bolting down the stairs of his house so he could go talk to her. He was open to new friends, but he wasn’t always so open about explaining the situation with Taylor. He hadn’t told anybody but Addie, and if Ana asked he would have probably told her. He didn’t trust anybody else. They didn’t give him reasoning to. He didn’t see the point in spreading the news around. It would give her father a bad name, which he truly deserved. When Skyler had told Preston he didn’t hate anybody, it was a complete and total lie. He hated Taylor’s father more than anybody or anything in this world.
He hadn’t been ready to go anywhere when Preston invited him over. He was still in his boxer shorts and a tank top. Needless to say, the boy was not going to go over to an almost stranger’s house dressed in his pajamas. He had dressed himself in a pair of jeans and a random Aeropostale shirt. He had gotten his license a little less than a year ago, meaning he could drive to Preston’s house. He wasn’t even completely sure where she lived, so he was just going to have to guess. He knew it was somewhere in Swisshelm Park, but he wasn’t sure which house it was exactly. He would just have to judge by instinct, which lately, wasn’t the best thing to do.
Once he was downstairs, he grabbed his keys off the counter and trudged out the front door to the porch. Skyler crossed his arms across his chest, beginning to make the trek to the driveway where his silver Chevy Cobalt sat. It wasn’t actually his, because his car was in the shop. He wasn’t even sure what was wrong with it. This was Addie’s car. He knew he probably should have asked her before he took it, but she’d get over it.. at least, he hoped she would get over it. He couldn’t have her mad at him. Skyler scoffed, opening the car door and sliding into the front seat with ease. He put Addie’s keys in the ignition before backing up out of the driveway, hoping not to hit anything. That wouldn’t be good at all.
When he was finally on the road, Skyler took one hand off the wheel cautiously, taking the seatbelt and clicking it into place. He usually didn’t drive with one on, but he was afraid that there might be cops around looking for teenagers just like that. After all, it was summer time and the teenagers loved to get out there and drive. When he finally had it clicked he positioned himself in the driver’s seat before pumping his foot on the gas and getting the hell out of his part of the neighborhood.
It was just a matter of minutes before he found himself in the entrance of Swisshelm Park. He figured he could just check the mail boxes and which ever one said Cameron would obviously be Preston’s house. When he finally came across the house, he flipped his blinker on, turning into her drive way and pulling the keys out of the ignition. He tossed them in his pocket and climbed out of the car, slamming and then locking the door. It was Addie’s car, he wasn’t about to get it stolen. He bit down on his bottom lip, making his way up to the front door and knocking softly, but loud enough for somebody to hear. Time to face the music, Skyler.

ONCE UPON A TIME, I BELIEVE.it was a tuesday when i caught your eye.

Preston didn’t normally try and get people to open up about anything, usually it was her spilling something or other. This time she’d gotten to the bottom of a certain person’s quietness and personality. Of course she felt bad for having to make him talk about it and honestly what he told her had nothing on feeling like he hated her. There had to be something out there he didn’t like obviously his ex dying of course. Letting a low breath out easily enough she simply convinced him to come over to her place after her father left and talk about it. So they could at least have a better understanding about each other and what happened. Then again she didn’t need him seeing a bruise which was laying on her hip bone from a certain man she hated to call her father. Realizing she was still in a pair of short shorts and lame loose tank top. Not exactly appropriate for inviting a guy let alone a new possible friend over. Inhaling she realized she totally didn’t smell to pretty either, definitely needing a shower she picked out a new outfit. Grabbing that she went into her bathroom quickly.
Turning the taps on she jumped in the shower and washed up carefully but very well. Rinsing off she got out of the shower grabbing her towel and drying off. Getting dressed she brushed her blonde hair down before using the blow drier it just a bit. Combing her hair while she did that she smiled at her reflection in the mirror, leaving the bathroom she fixed her shirt. Putting on her skate shoes, Preston sat down on her bed pulling her cell phone from her nightstand to where she sat. Seeing the time and checking out her door she texted Skyler and told him her father had left, safe to come. Shutting her cell phone she headed out of her room and down the stairs, not seeing any sign of the man she sighed happily. Grabbing a bottle of water from fridge she left the kitchen and going into the living room turning on the television. Flipping through channels she settled upon a random music videos channel. Something she normally didn’t do expecting or not expecting company. Hearing a car door be slammed she glanced over towards the window seeing a not so familiar car she raised a brow.
Going towards the hall way she turned off the television first. Hearing the knocking on the front door she slightly assumed who it was and smiled. It was Skyler he had said he’d be there soon and apparently they didn’t live to far apart. Well that didn’t matter in her mind maybe today would be the start of a new friendship. Oddly enough it would be Preston’s first friend that actually told her something she would swear to never tell another person in her entire life. Opening the door as she reached it she allowed him in before shutting the door behind him. Hey glad you could make it she added. Would you like something to drink? I have water, soda or juice at the moment she asked being polite of course.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/blockquote][/blockquote] who: skyler hanson where: prestons home when: evening wearing: coming words: five hundred and thirty two banner by: somebody on caution template by: EMMARR of caution 2.0 lyrics: forever and always by taylor swift notes: sucks but it will get better.

Skyler could feel himself becoming more and more paranoid by the second. He didn’t want to tell her now. He was realizing it. Skyler hadn’t spoken of the situation since he had to tell Addie. That had only been a month after the girl’s death, so it was okay to talk about it. Now, over a year later, it seemed like such a silly thing to bring up. He had to say he wasn’t the least bit comfortable telling Preston about Taylor. He didn’t even really know the girl. He didn’t know if she was going to go around and spread rumors about it or anything. Skyler would much rather that didn’t happen, but if it did then so be it. He would defend her just as he did the weeks after her death when people were calling her weak and pathetic for taking her own life.
He never really understood that. How could one be weak and pathetic for placing a cold, silver blade to their wrist and slicing through their skin? How could one be weak when the vein was sliced and the blood ran cold, not warm? Then again, he didn’t understand how one could hate life so much that they could endure that kind of physical pain. Maybe it was true that the emotional pain was so much worse. Skyler had believed that suicide was the answer at one point in his life, but he realized that was not what Taylor would have wanted. Taylor would have wanted Skyler to remember her, but not grieve for as long as he had.
Another thing he wasn’t too sure of was if telling Preston would relieve some of the guilt that hung over his head, or just make it linger there even more. He wanted to believe people when they said it wasn’t his fault. In fact some people had gotten so tough on him about it that he had began to believe it. Addie had said something about it ‘not always having to be about him’. That was true. He realized how selfish he was being. He didn’t like it, but he did realize it. There was only one way to fix that, and that was to make sure that he stopped thinking so much about himself. It was all about redefining yourself, and to do that, you couldn’t be selfish.
Skyler hadn’t expected Preston to open the door so quickly. He looked up from his feet, stopping his daydream abruptly. He gave her an awkward smile and a wave. Skyler really wasn’t good with new people. Then again, Preston wasn’t exactly a new person. Skyler had seen her glare at him in the hallways a few times. He honestly didn’t think that was his fault. Maybe she should have been a bit more understanding. Maybe she should have just let him be. Now he found himself standing in her doorway about to confess his undying guilt. He wasn’t cool with it.
”Hey,” He said softly, stepping in as she let him. Skyler bit down on his bottom lip and then gave her another small smile. “Oh yeah, thanks for inviting me,” He nodded, trying to seem the least bit excited. He didn’t want to seem rude. After all, the whole thing about this visit was to eliminate that, wasn’t it? “Thanks for the offer, but I’m good,” He put his hand up in protest, standing awkwardly in her door.
